Three weeks ago, Nicole succeeded in convincing her parents to buy 2 dozen button quail eggs. A couple of days later, they arrived and we put them in our incubator. Two weeks later, we have 16 tiny birds. These things are really small. About the size of a large bumble bee, and just as active. They are FAST and they have a habit of popping vertically into the air. No wings yet so they come right back down :) All 16 of them could stand comfortably on one slice of toast.

So what does one do with 2 dozen button quail chicks when they cease to be chicks?
Adorably cute, but I'm uncomfortable with the image of them on toast ... later, with the eggs, maybe?
What could possibly be wrong with 16 tiny "chickens" on toast? Makes my mouth water just typing this...
Guys, give them a couple of weeks to put some meat on their bones before you contemplate consumption. And ahh, Thanksgiving is just 3.5 weeks away...
